존 D. 레벤슨(Jon D. Levenson)히브리성서에 대한 탁월한 해석과 랍비 문헌, 고대 근동 문헌 등에 대한 전문적인 식견을 바탕으로 고대와 현대, 유대교와 기독교 간의 건전한 대화를 이끌고 있는 유대교 성서학자다. 하버드 대학교에서 철학박사 학위를 취득했고, 웰슬리 대학 및 시카고 대학교 교수를 역임했으며, 현재 하버드 신학교(Harvard Divinity School)에서 교수(Albert A. List Professor of Jewish Studies)로 재직하고 있다. 저서로는 『시내산과 시온』(대한기독교서회), Resurrection and the Restoration of Israel: The Ultimate Victory of the God of Life, Inheriting Abraham: The Legacy of the Patriarch in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, The Love of God: Divine Gift, Human Gratitude, and Mutual Faithfulness in Judaism 등이 있다.
