이석재서울대학교 철학과 교수로 재직 중이며, 미국 예일대학교 대학원에서 철학박사학위를 받았다. 제2회 로저스Rogers상을 수상한 바 있다. 「Berkeley on the Activity of Spirits」, 「Occasionalism」, 「Necessary Connections and Continuous Creation: Malebranche's Two Arguments for Occasionalism」 등 다수의 논문이 있다.
